William R. Ramsey, age 91 of Custer, KY passed away May 14, 2023 at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in Hardin County, KY on September 29, 1931, son of the late Hobson and Effie Ford Ramsey. He was a retired mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and trucks. He looked forward to visits with friends on his porch swing, fishing – however he enjoyed eating them more than catching them, birdwatching and being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a regular at Dairy Queen where he kept up with community and world happenings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Arkell Carman Ramsey, siblings Linda Skaggs, Frank Ramsey and Rita Lucas.
He is survived by 4 children: Doug (Gail) Ramsey of Glendale, KY; Barry Ramsey of Guston, KY; Rhonda Davis (Tommy) of Guston, KY and Sandy (Timmy) Harper of Custer, KY
6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 12 PM with burial in the Custer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM.
