The Owensboro Health Family Medicine Residency Clinic will offer three walk-in wellness screenings in April, May, and June. The clinic will provide little-to-no-cost skin cancer screenings, school physicals, and diabetes assessments for walk-in patients.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 15, Family Medicine Residency physicians will provide free, head-to-toe skin cancer screenings. Same-day biopsies will be offered for those with lesions identified as areas of concern. Biopsy procedures will be billed to insurance, and standard co-pays will apply.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 13, resident physicians will provide free school physical exams. The assessments include height and weight measurement, pulse and blood pressure readings, vision and hearing tests, and a medical check of the lungs, heart, skin, abdomen, nose, teeth, mouth and throat to ensure there aren’t any abnormalities. Students will receive documentation of the screening as they leave the clinic.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 17, resident physicians will perform diabetes assessments for a $25 fee. The assessments include urinalysis and on-site tests to determine glucose and A1C. Same-day results will be available, and diabetes educators from the Owensboro Health Healthpark will be available for counseling.

All three events will be held at the Owensboro Health Family Medicine Residency Clinic on the first floor of the Parrish Medical Building, 811 E. Parrish Ave. in Owensboro, and no appointments are necessary.
