The Owensboro Figure Skating Club brought home dozens of individual medals and finished fourth as a team recently while competing in the ISI Winter Classic Competition in Huntsville, Alabama.
A total of 12 skaters from the club competed in a total of 51 events throughout. The field included 227 competitors and 837 individual performances.
The Owensboro Figure Skating Club brought home:
- 11 – 1st-place medals
- 11 – 2nd-place medals
- 10 – 3rd-place medals
- 11 – 4th-place medals
- 4 – 5th-place medals
- 4 – 6th-place medals
Overall the team took home fourth place out of 13 teams at the national event. Teams traveled from states including Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Tennessee, and more.
The Owensboro Figure Skating club will compete again this month, March 24-26, at the Edge Ice Center for the 2023 Living on the Edge Team Competition. The event is open and free to the public.
