Heritage Federal Credit Union is opening an “updated branch location” on the corner of Frederica Street and Tamarack Road near the former Texas Gas building. A spokesperson said the new location “will feature a modern look and advanced banking technology,” which includes virtual teller stations.
Sami Etienne, Director of Marketing for HFCU, said the new location is an upgrade from the bank’s existing Owensboro branch at 1819 Frederica Street. However, when asked if the development is a relocation of the current branch, Etienne said “that has not been decided yet.”
According to a release from HFCU, the new branch will feature virtual teller stations that offer members the ability to conduct a variety of banking transactions with the help of a live teller via video chat.
The release said “this innovative technology allows for a simplified and enhanced member experience.”
Tony Aylsworth, CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union, said “Our mission is to improve lives and simplify banking. We have faith this new location will do just that. The new branch will offer state-of-the-art technology, a modern look, and an even more comfortable environment for our members to conduct their financial business.”
The updated location will be fully operational and open to the public fall of 2023, according to the release.
According to a building permit issued on February 10, the building will be just under 4,500 square feet. According to the permit, the construction cost will be nearly $1.74 million and Envision is listed as the primary contractor.
