The Lady Aces wrapped the regular season up with a win over Breckinridge County on Friday, while Daviess County fell to the Lady Waves to close out the week.

Owensboro Catholic vs Breckinridge County

Owensboro Catholic’s offense was clicking on all cylinders on Friday, with a balanced scoring attack leading to a 60-55 win.

The Lady Aces got off to a strong start, limiting Breckinridge County to single digits in the first while sophomore Karmin Riley hit a pair of threes en route to a 14-9 lead going into the second. The Lady Tigers bounced back with 18 points the following quarter, but Riley chipped in six more points to help keep Owensboro Catholic out in front 30-27 at halftime.

The Lady Aces kept things rolling in the third too, this time being led by eight points from sophomore Aubrey Randolph to lead 48-38 heading into the fourth. Randolph and junior Jenna Krampe chipped in five points each in the fourth as well, helping Owensboro Catholic put a bow on the 60-55 win.

Randolph led the way with 17 points on the night, while Riley followed close behind with 15. The Lady Aces close the regular season out at 20-9, now awaiting their first-round 9th District matchup with Daviess County at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

Daviess County vs Meade County

Offensive struggles and an inability to stifle Peyton Bradley and Paige Medley led to a Lady Panthers loss on Friday, as Meade County grabbed the 70-30 win.

Bradley (15) and Medley (11) both set the tone for the game from the jump, as they combined for 26 points en route to a 39-18 halftime lead. After grabbing eight of Daviess County’s points in the first half senior Adylan Ayer tried to keep clawing at the lead with eight of their 10 in the third.

But the Lady Waves exploded for 22 more points, making it a 61-28 game heading into the fourth. The Lady Panthers went on to hold Meade County to single digits in the fourth, but they were held to two points themselves and fell 70-30.

Ayer was the only player to finish in double figures with 16 points, while sophomore Zoey Beehn chipped in eight. Daviess County falls to 14-16 overall with the loss, as they now look ahead to their first-round 9th District matchup with Owensboro Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
