Mister B’s Pizza & Wings could open their Owensboro location as early as this fall. The sports-themed restaurant purchased the former Maloney’s building off KY 54 last year and will be making major renovations in the coming months, including adding an indoor golf facility.
Local realtor and broker Jim Estes first announced the sale of the former Maloney’s (located at 3030 Highland Pointe Drive) in July 2022, later confirming it had been purchased by the owners of Henderson-based Mister B’s.
On Friday, Estes told Owensboro Times they’ve finally wrapped up the design stage, a process that took some time “because basically the whole interior of the building is being ripped out and redone.”
There will be some renovations and additions to the outside as well, including a patio. The building will also house Club 18, an indoor golfing facility with a TrackMan golf simulator. The Evansville location of Mister B’s also has a Club 18.
Estes added that the owners wanted to take the time to make sure they are opening a facility that will be top-notch rather than rushing to open their doors.
“They are more focused on doing it right than they are on doing it right now,” Estes said. “If you look at what they’ve done in Evansville with the one there, which is kind of how this one is going to be modeled after, it really is a first-class setup. It’s gonna be a real plus for the Owensboro market to have this here.”
Estes said if the permitting process goes smoothly, they should be able to start construction at the end of March or in early April. Then construction is expected to take about 5-6 months.
“From there, we should be ready to go,” he said. “It’s gonna be really just a first-class transformation.”
More details on the layout are expected to be available at a later date.
