Rex Dale Fulkerson, Sr., 81, of Hawesville, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his home. He was born on December 12, 1940 in Roseville, Ky to the late Vernon E. and Mabel Craig Fulkerson. Rex was retired from Whirlpool and was a former Deacon at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. Rex was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by American Tobacco Company before he went to work at Whirlpool. Rex enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, building things, westerns and loved his dachshund. He was preceded in death by his son, Rex Dale Fulkerson, Jr.; a grandson, Trevor Chapman and a sister, Wanda Jones.
Rex is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Bennett Fulkerson; daughter, Deanna (Todd) Edgell; grandchildren, Carl (Nicole) Davidson, Jessica Green, Jerrod Davidson, Keisha (Jerry) Caldwell, Nick (Aubrey) Fulkerson, Ethan Edgell, Skye Edgell and Elizabeth Fulkerson; sister, Diane Elliott; daughter in law, Rhonda Fulkerson along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Rex’s family will be greeting friends at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4 pm until 7 pm.
