Events for the family this Halloween

In addition to the return of the city’s Trail of Treats on Oct. 27, there are plenty of other events for families this Halloween. Here’s a list of some of the planned activities through the end of the month.

Any organization with an event not listed below can send us the information by clicking here. Please include your organization’s name, time and date, type of event, and if necessary a short description.

(Note: The “A Lot of Treats” event scheduled for October 29 at T&T Vendor’s Mall has been canceled.)

Here’s what we know of so far that is still scheduled as of Oct. 20:

Oct. 22

  • The Father’s House Trunk or Treat
    Starts at 4 p.m. Chili, themed cars/trunks, bake walk.

Oct. 25

  • Brescia University Trunk or Treat
    4:30-6  p.m. in the Student Services Parking Lot. Students, faculty, and staff of the University will all participate in this family friendly event. Local food trunks will also be at the event.

Oct. 26

  • Living Hope Candy Trail
    6-7:30 p.m. at 1709 Alexander Avenue. Free food, candy, music and fun.
  • Pleasant Valley Community Church Trunk or Treat
    6-7:30 p.m.

Oct. 27

  • City of Owensboro Trail of Treats
    5:30-8 p.m. in downtown Owensboro and Smothers Park. More than 60 booths sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Children and families will be able to trick-or-treat downtown while enjoying music and meet-and-greets from some of their favorite characters.

Oct. 28

  • Cedarhurst Trick or Treat
    5-7 p.m. Trick or Treat with residents. 

Oct. 29

  • Brushy Fork Baptist Church Fall Festival
    10 a.m.-1pm. Rain or shine. There will be free food, bounce house, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, face painting, games and prizes for both adults and kids. 
  • Bellevue Baptist Harvest Festival
    4-6 p.m. at 4950 Hwy 56. Trunk or Treat, hayrides, free hotdog meal. 
  • Matthew’s Table Fall Fest
    3-7 p.m. Trunk or Treat from 3-5, Fall Fest activities from 5-7, chili cookoff and silent auction at 6.
  • The Cottage Trick or Treating and Corn Maze
    9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 29 and 30. Five-acre maze with 10 candy stations. Admission is $5 per person and free for children two years old and younger. 6869 Highway 56.
  • Breaking the Cycle Trunk or Treat
    5 – 7 p.m. at Dugan Best Park. There will be food, face painting, and games. There will be a contest for best-decorated trunk

Oct. 30

  • Cornerstone Church Fall Festival
    4-6 p.m. Trunk or Treat. Drawings for prizes every 15 minutes.
  • Idyllwood Halloween Mini Market
    12-4 p.m. Dress up and shop your favorite local vendors. There will lots of fall photo ops for the family.

Oct. 31

  • Northwest Neighborhood Alliance Trunk or Treat
    5-7 p.m. at Kendall-Perkins Park.
  • Kentucky Wesleyan College Trunk or Treat
    5-6:30 p.m. at Yu Hak Hahn parking lot off Wesleyan Way.
  • Legacy Portrait Design Free Halloween Picture
    2-5 p.m. Come to the studio in your costumes and get a free picture emailed to you. 600 Park Plaza Drive, Suite #7 in the Swiss Plaza.
