Daniel Patrick Hoskins, age 60 of Pig, KY in Edmonson County, passed away October 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on September 8, 1962. Daniel joined the United States Marine Corps at age 17 after graduating from Breckinridge County High School, where he was an Expert Rifleman and received the High Shooter Award. He was proud of his service to his country and continued his career with the United States Coast Guard where he was a member of the honor guard rifle team. Daniel was one of seven founding members of Unit Tacklett South. He was trained in Counter Terrorism and a member of the SWAT team. His passions in life were playing bass guitar and having the honor to serve his country in both the United States Marine Corp and Coast Guard where he acquired many awards.
He is preceded in death by his brother George Hoskins, Jr.
Daniel is survived by his wife Shirley of Pig, KY
his parents: George and Wanda Hoskins of Westview, KY
his brother: David Hoskins of Owensboro, KY and sister: Gretchen (Jeff) Hodge of Brownsville, KY
his son: Chris Hoskins of Hardinsburg, KY and 2 grandsons – Jackson and Tristan Hoskins
4 nephews, 3 nieces, 1 great nephew and 5 great nieces.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1 PM. Burial with military honors will be in the Kingswood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday after 8:30 AM.
