Starting tonight, those looking for a local haunted thrill can experience the sights and frights of the “Terror at the Turley – Psycho Circus Sideshow” at the RiverPark Center.
Executive Director Rich Jorn said he was told some time ago that the Turley Building at the RiverPark Center is one of the top 5 most haunted places in Owensboro. The idea for “Terror at the Turley” was born last year.
“It’s about having a great time. It’s about kind of celebrating Halloween and the spookiness of it at the Turley building,” Jorn said.
This year, Technical Director Phillip Poe said the team is having fun playing around and learning how to best use the space to provide the most optimal experience.
The two floors of the Turley building includes set-ups that will allow jump scares, noise scares, crawlspaces, and more.
“It’s a great opportunity to do things differently. You can throw things together, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be perfect or every corner has to be square; it can be a little disorienting,” Poe said.
“Terror at the Turley” opens today and continues each Friday and Saturday night through the end of the month. It’s open 7:30-10 p.m. each night. Tickets are $12 at the door.
