Former Falls of Rough resident, Joyce Frost Ferry, 75, died in Tarpon Springs, FL on August 7, 2022. Joyce was born February 12, 1947 to Hollie “Ray” and Lena Frances Frost in Middletown, KY. She was one of six siblings and is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bill and Jerry and sister Retha. Her surviving brothers include Jim Frost (Judy) and Bob Frost (Donna).
She is also survived by her only son Scott Littrell (Monica) and grandchildren, Edward Dorin (Tiffany), Alicia Wiggins, Tyler Harris and Cody Harris and 13 great grandchildren.
Her professional life included a career in interior decorating, being an executive assistant to the president of two manufacturing companies and a restaurant owner in Falls of Rough, KY. Besides loving to bowl, she was also an avid music lover. She played the french horn in a marching band, she had a beautiful alto singing voice and enjoyed singing along with her favorite hits of the 70’s.
Joyce married and divorced a few times in her life and each marriage led to being a mom to several children. She held these children in high regard and spoke of them often. She is preceded in death by all four husbands and is survived by their children and their families. She was especially close to two daughters of her latest husband, Paul Ed Ferry; Betsy Franklin (Jamie) and Tina Ferry (Wes) and was proud to be grandmother and great grandmother to their children.
Two years ago, Joyce moved to Florida to live with Scott and Monica, where she spent her last years soaking up abundant sunshine, sea breezes, boating to nearby islands and enjoying the company of fun friends met along the way. She was instantly loved and will be dearly missed by her “Florida Family” just as much as she will be by all who knew and loved her.
The funeral and visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, 308 South Hardin Street, Hardinsburg, KY 40143. Visitation hours are scheduled on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 4 – 8 PM and Sunday after 10 AM. The funeral will be on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 1 PM at the funeral home and Joyce will be laid to rest in McDaniels Cemetery.
