Lillard Veo Lynch

April 27, 1930 - July 6, 2022

On July 6, 2022, Lillard Veo Lynch went to be with his heavenly Father. He was born on April 27, 1930 to the late Rufus and Katie Lynch.

Preceding him in death was his son Roger Leon; his wife Mary Highbaugh Lynch; brothers Lloyd, Floyd, Edward and Dale Lynch; sisters Zelona Parker, Lieta Lynch and Evadean Dennis.

Survivors are his son Gregory (Kim) Lynch; sisters Yvetta Capps and Lovera Preston; grandson Collin Lynch (Kristina); granddaughter Kayla Lynch; great grandchildren Amberlynn and Steele.

Also surviving is his friend Carol Claycomb Hamm plus many nieces and nephews.

A sergeant in the U.S. Army, he was assigned to be a medic in an Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in action against an armed enemy. In 1970, he opened a convenient food mart with friend Alfred Earl Triplett in Hodgenville. He also became an Electronic technician for the American Tobacco Company. He worked there twenty-one years and was featured with his picture in the Industrial Electronic Service magazine. At retirement, he owned and operated Bradford’s Home Mart in Augusta, KY. After retirement he moved back to his hometown of Custer and farmed with his brother Dale and wife Etta Jean Lynch.

Lillard was a kind, thoughtful and giving man who helped many people and will be very missed.

A service to celebrate Veo’s life will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on July 12, 2022 at 11 AM with Rev. Terry Ames officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Bennett Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday after 8:30 AM. Expressions of sympathy are requested to First Church of God in Custer.
