In the 4 months since opening, Frozen Lounge has found success by offering a unique vibe combined with and adult slushies. Owner Shanice Carbon said she’s already looking to expand the menu, and by popular demand has decided to allow the venue to be rented for events.

Carbon said she hopes to introduce a new slushies, but before doing so they are having a taste testing of the potential new drinks as well as some old favorites.

On Friday, the location will be giving samples of around 15 different slushies to customers. Carbon said the price to attend is $30, and there will be games, gift cards, and food available along with with the drink tasting. To RSVP for the slushie taste testing, follow the business on Facebook.

“We’re gonna try some new things,” Carbon said. “My goal is to try to put out new drinks at least once a month, and just to see what people think.”

Since opening, Carbon said she has learned a couple of lessons about the business and where she sees it going in the future. For starters, she noted customers aren’t just wanting to come for drinks, but they also want rent the venue for events.

She has seen the venue used from bridal showers to even a children’s birthday party — where she offers non-alcoholic slushies.

Even though that wasn’t the original game plan for the business, Carbon said she looks forward to rentals and just getting people into a relaxing atmosphere.

“Some people just want to come here with their man or their girls and they literally just talk. I’ve had people come in here and talk for hours, sit on the couch and watch TV for hours, and just leave feeling good. That’s what I want,” Carbon said.

Another change she sees in the near future is taking the presence outside the four walls of her location. Carbon said wants to offer slushies downtown at Friday After 5 in the coming weeks, allowing everyone to enjoy their drinks down by the river.
