Integrity has added to the growing list of what they offer as a company. The service side, which offers all manner of backyard installations, has grown so much that they now occupy a building directly next to Integrity’s outdoor store.

Rachel Mann, Creative Director & Inventory Management, said Integrity is made up of both a retail side, Integrity Nursery & Outdoor Living, and a service side, Integrity Backyard Builds.

“Our service side has continued to grow and grow and grow,” she said. “We started installing pools a little over a year ago. It’s been wildly successful, very well-received, and a lot of fun.”

Mann said many of those pool clients and people in the community asked if Integrity was also doing retail sales for pool chemicals and water testing. For a long time, the answer was no.

“And then eventually, it just seemed like it was a smart thing to do. The demand was there. And we were tired of saying no to people who really wanted to do business with us,” she said.

As Integrity’s service side continued to grow, the Backyard Builds team eventually outgrew the company’s main building at 1100 Burlew Blvd. So, Backyard Builds moved into the building next door at 1200 Burlew, which Integrity already owned.

Within the new space, the company is now “full-service” with their pool department, offering everything from new builds and renovations to water testing and selling the necessary chemicals and maintenance items.

Backyard Builds includes a wide range of services such as landscaping, patios, walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, pools, and artificial turf. Anyone interested in getting a pool installed or taking advantage of other services can access info on the Integrity website or Facebook page, or call or stop by the store.

Christoper Thompson, a partner with Integrity, noted that one of the main benefits of Backyard Builds is only having one point of contact to manage your entire project.

“One of the key features that people really like about dealing with us is that we’re full-service,” he said. “You’re not required to go hire contractors for each part of the job and coordinate with all of them. You have one Integrity point of contact who will do all of that coordination for you.”

Thompson said Integrity’s pool store has already been able to stand out because of their convenient location and because they’re open longer hours and more days than other similar businesses. He added that they use a new technology that allows them to give a precise and detailed analysis when it comes to water testing.

Nothing has changed with their long-standing outdoor living store, which carries flowers, trees and shrubs, as well as patio furniture and décor. There is also now a path connecting the two stores to make it easier for people who need supplies for both their garden and pool.

“We immediately knew that the two stores would play off of each other, that somebody was going to be next door shopping for shrubs and remember that they need chemicals for the pool, or be here for water testing and see that they can pop over to pick up some fresh flowers for the patio,” Mann said.

Thompson said they always keep the customers’ needs in mind when making business decisions.

“I think the main reason we’ve grown and evolved as a business is because we listen to what our customers are asking for,” he said. “We keep a good pulse on what people in Owensboro need and want, and we let them lead us where we go next.”
