Trunnell’s Farm Market in Utica has turned its Cottontail & Cocktails Adult Easter Egg Hunt into an annual event, with this year’s slated for April 15. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features more than $3,500 in cash and prizes.
The hunt is for adults age 21 and over and boasts a wide array of cocktails, domestic and craft beer, wine, and food options. Attendees can kick back and relax on the farm by a bonfire while listening to live music.
Participants are also encouraged to visit the new baby animals in the barnyard and take advantage of many selfie opportunities. The 20-plus attractions typically reserved for children accentuate the event, ranging from the jumping pillow and pedal tractors to the ball zone.
The actual egg hunt, which organizers describe as a “mad dash,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. as participants attempt to collect as many eggs as possible within 45 minutes. The eggs contain a number for a chance to win a prize, candy, gift cards, and complimentary appetizers.
Participants can submit the numbers they collect anytime after the hunt begins to claim their prize. The four most significant prizes are reserved for a random drawing at the conclusion of the hunt.
Organizers added that the event is outside and will occur regardless of weather conditions, advising attendees to dress appropriately. They also encourage those attending to bring some form of light to assist in navigating the farm during the hunt.
Participation also requires walking and hunting over uneven surfaces, so event-goers should wear appropriate shoes and dress accordingly. Lawn chairs are welcome; however, no outside coolers or alcohol are allowed.
General admission to the event costs $29 per person, while VIP tickets run $89 per person. The VIP ticket includes a reserved picnic table for up to six people near the live entertainment, a free entree and side from The Farm Grille, and a complimentary souvenir cup for “all-you-can-drink” domestic beer during the evening.
Tickets to the event are only available in advance online here. Registration closes on April 15 or when all of the tickets have been purchased. Organizers said, “the event sold out fast last year, so purchase early to ensure an Egg-cellent, hopping good time on the farm.”
