Owensboro man and woman facing drug and weapon charges after seizure by Drug Task Force

A man and woman from Owensboro are facing several drug- and weapon-related charges after the Owensboro-Daviess County Drug Task Force seized 9 firearms, meth, and more according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation resulted in Mary Lee, 43, and Joseph Lee, 58, being arrested and charged with the following: 

  • first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (>or=2 grams meth) — firearm enhancement 
  • trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 oz.) — firearm enhancement 
  • drug paraphernalia, buy/possess 
  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon 
  • possession of a handgun by a convicted felon

According to reports, a search warrant was executed at just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of E. 10th Street as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. 

According to DCSO, as a result of the warrant law enforcement officials seized 9 firearms, ammunition, 2.6 oz. of marijuana, 8.4 oz of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a large quantity of U.S. currency. 

The search was executed by DCSO along with other members of the Drug Task Force, including the Kentucky State Police, Owensboro Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, ATF and FBI.
