
Larry James Robinson, age 75 of Irvington, KY passed away March 4, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Meade County on September 14, 1946, the son of the late Estil ‘Sam’ and Verbal Robinson. Larry will be remembered by his many accomplishments. He was drafted into the Army in 1966 where he served two years in Germany. Larry transitioned out of the Army as an E-4. When he returned home, he started at Brown & Williamson and then went to work as a contractor for Chicago Bridge and Iron, painting water towers. Larry soon decided he did not want to travel and secured a job at Fort Knox with a contractor working as a painter. Then he applied for a job with Civil Service where he was hired in the DEH paint shop. He spent eight years as a painter for the government. From the paint shop he transferred to the Inspection Branch. In 1979 he decided to start his own business, Larry J. Robinson and Company, INC as a federal contractor.
Larry married the love of his life, Vickie Montez Stinnett on June 2, 1971. The two were each others lifelong companions and best friends. They built their dream home 34 years ago. Larry designed the house and every building on the farm. They have a little Shih Tzu named Rue, that Larry loved very much.
Larry is a member of the Irvington Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons and major contributor to the church. He was a member of the Breckinridge Lodge # 67 and Irvington Masonic Lodge # 868. Larry served in all offices of the Masons – District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, Master Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Junior Steward, Senior Warden and his current position as Secretary. Over the years Larry served on many boards including the Farmers Deposit Board. He loved helping and serving his community any way he could.
Larry was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed watching basketball, farming and his cattle. He took great pride in his home and farm.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Tommy and Estil Ray Robinson, 2 sisters Margie Simmons and Joyce Huffines, 2 nephews Junior and Buck Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the Kingswood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 3-7 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM. A Masonic service will be held on Tuesday at 6 PM.
