Multiple county fire departments responded to a structure fire just before 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Pleasant Valley Road. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 2 hours, and no injuries were reported.

According to a Facebook post, at approximately 5:46 p.m. Masonville Fire Department was dispatched to assist Thruston-Philpot Fire Department with a possible structure fire.

“A caller from the hospital reported seeing thick black smoke from the 5th floor. Daviess County Fire Department Engine 331 arrived to find heavy smoke coming from an approximately 50×80 fabrication building. A working fire was then assigned to units responded,” according to the post.

Firefighters were able to make entry to the building, utilizing thermal cameras to locate the fire due to heavy smoke conditions, MFD officials said. Ventilation was then used to remove remaining smoke from the building.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
