Head Coach Sol Stephens and the Kentucky Wesleyan Men’s Track & Field team impressed in their second meet of the indoor season, coming in fourth with a total of 83 points, just 2.5 behind third place Franklin. Centre took the meet with 109 total points.
ames Loi was the lone first place finisher for the Panther men, winning the 1000 meter run in a time of 2:43.42. The lightning quick Jayden Freeman finished strong in the 60 meter dash to place second with a time of 7.08. Freeman also finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 23.12. Joshua Moore jumped 1.88m (6’1″) to place second in the high jump.
Freeman proved he’s more than a sprinter, coming in second in the long jump with a distance of 6.36m (20’9″). Keith Williams also finished second, this time in the triple jump with a leap of 13.12m (43′). Williams finished just two spots above teammate O’Khari Hughes, who came in fourth at 12.24 (40’2″). Matt Wilson used a throw of 13.66m (44’9″) in the shot put to take fourth.
The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 19 when they head to Terre Haute, Ind. for the ISU Open.
