Independence Bank, one of the fastest-growing banks in Kentucky and the fifth largest, is expanding to Shelby County.
Newly named market President Brian Webb, a lifelong Shelby County resident, will lead the regional community Bank. His banking career, spanning three decades, has a concentration in commercial lending.
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to engage and evolve as we welcome additional employees and create a top-tier team,” Webb said. “There is no doubt that being able to make local decisions makes a lasting impression. Creating and maintaining personal connections with customers is a top priority.”
The latest expansion comes just three months after plans were made public to also enter Lexington. Independence Bank was primarily located in the western part of the state, but has gradually moved into central Kentucky.
“Our newest location in Shelbyville is the bridge between the Bank’s successful Jefferson and Franklin County markets,” Independence Bank President Jacob Reid said. “We always start with finding the right bankers. Independence Bank looks forward to assembling a strong team of individuals, alongside of Brian, who will continue to put the needs of their customers first as they have done for many years.”
A community board is in the process of being crafted to help drive growth and direction for the market. Additional details will be provided once a location is determined.
