Jen Bricker-Bauer

Jen Bricker-Bauer was born without legs and her biological parents left her at the hospital. Through perseverance and passion, she went on to become an accomplished acrobat and aerialist. Bricker-Bauer will be the guest speaker at this year’s Girls Empowerment Trail Blazer dinner on March 3.

The dinner is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Owensboro Community & Technical College Blandford Lecture Hall (4800 New Hartford Road)

As a child, Bricker-Bauer was obsessed with gymnastics. Her idol was gold medalist Dominique Moceanu. Watching Moceanu on TV helped inspire Bricker-Bauer to start competing herself.

Bricker-Bauer went on to compete against able bodied athletes and became a state champion in power tumbling. Bricker-Bauer later learned that her childhood gymnastics idol Moceanu was actually her biological sister.

Always challenging herself, Bricker-Bauer transitioned into an accomplished acrobat and aerialist. She traveled internationally with Britney Spears’ World Tour, and appeared as the headliner at the prestigious Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas, and the Shangri La hotel in Dubai.

Bricker-Bauer’s story has been featured on multiple shows, including HBO Real Sports, 20/20 and Good Morning America. She has added a successful speaking career to her list of accomplishments, including being featured in a TED talk as well as speaking and performing in over 23 countries.

Bricker-Bauer published her first book, Everything is Possible, that made the New York Times Best Sellers list in 2016.
